She was 92 years old<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: 18px\">Joan was born on July 3, 1933, to the late William and Anna Knapp of Garnerville, where she grew up. Joan attended Haverstraw High School and later graduated from St. Vincent&#8217;s Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1953. Upon graduation, she returned to Rockland and began her career at Good Samaritan Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: 18px\">Shortly thereafter, she met and married the love of her life, John \u201cJack\u201d Casey. \u00a0Together, they raised 3 children and enjoyed boating on the Hudson River and camping throughout New England.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: 18px\">After raising her children, Joan returned to her career in nursing administration and retired from Letchworth Village Developmental Center. Upon retirement, Joan and Jack became \u201csnowbirds,\u201d splitting the year between their country home near Cooperstown, NY, and the beach near Bradenton, FL. In addition to playing golf and fishing together, they enjoyed cruising the Caribbean islands as well as Alaska.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: 18px\">Joan is survived by her daughter, Jill LaMarch; her sons, John (Doris) and William; and 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Al, and sister, Kathryn Reilly.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400;letter-spacing: normal;text-align: start;text-indent: 0px;text-transform: none;white-space: normal\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: 18px\"><strong>A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10 am at St. Peter&#8217;s &amp; St. Mary&#8217;s Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY 10927.<\/p>\n<p>Interment of cremains will follow at St. Peter&#8217;s Cemetery, Route 9W, Haverstraw, NY 10927.<br \/><\/strong><br \/>The family entrusted Joan&#8217;s care to the Flynn family and the Flynn Funeral &amp; Cremation Memorial Center&#8217;s staff.<\/p>\n<p>Cremation care was provided under the direct supervision of Brendan Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, NY.<\/p>\n<p>The family would like to thank Joan\u2019s caregivers at the Willows Nursing Center for the care and attention she received during her stay.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/unitedhospiceinc.org\/donation\/\" style=\"font-family: Georgia,serif\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: 18px\">\u00a0United Hospice at 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joan A.
